Family Caregiver Workshop – Dementia
Four- to eight-hour workshops available to the public statewide, instructed by a UAMS Nurse Educator. The workshop will present an overview of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and provide caregiving tips that contribute to maintaining respect, dignity, and quality of life for the person living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. This workshop is available at our Centers on Aging and by request on location to groups of 10 or more. For on-location requests, contact PAClark@uams.edu.

Family Caregiver Workshop – Physical Skills
These workshops give hands-on help to family caregivers on the following topics: Infection control, skin care, incontinence mangement, nutrition, body mechanics, mobility, caregiver stress, safety, activities of daily living, etc.

Alzheimer’s Experience: Take a Walk in Their Shoes

The experience consists of 5-10 minutes per-person tours that are presented at our Centers on Aging as a half/full day event and can be requested as a special event on-location for large groups, including communities of faith and employees at senior living centers and medical facilities in Arkansas.

Alzheimer’s Support Groups

Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, community members are welcome to attend the Alzheimer’s Support Group
