Alzheimer’s & Other Dementia Education Programs

There are a variety of Alzheimer’s Education programs available for healthcare professionals and paraprofessionals including:

  • Online: Free 8 HR Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care Seminar – This online program is available by request for groups of 25 of more. Completion of this course qualifies a person to apply for national certification. Contact Us for more information
  • Online: Free 2 HR First Responder Dementia Training  – This online program is available to fire fighters, police departments (state, county and city), EMTs, and volunteer first responders including disaster relief organizations. First Responders can complete this course individually at their own pace online. Register Now
  • Free Alzheimer’s/Dementia Experience: Take a Walk in Their Shoes – appropriate for all individuals that are “customer-facing” to persons with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias (available on location and by request for half/full days for large groups including communities of faith, medical facilities and nursing homes). 
    Due to social distancing requirements, the Take a Walk in Their Shoes Experience is not currently available.
  • Online: Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
    The AGEC offers this informational program about understanding dementia and Alzheimer’s disease for community awareness and knowledge. This online program can be viewed individually at your own timing, or provided for your organization by request by a certified AGEC staff member virtually. We ask that requests serve at least 20 attendees. The AGEC can help promote and market this program for your event. Contact Us for more information
