Alzheimer’s & Other Dementia Education Programs

There a a variety of Alzheimer’s Education programs for health professionals, paraprofessionals and family caregivers and older adults including:

  • Free 8 HR Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care Seminar (this program is available throughout the year (on location) by request for groups of 25 of more). Attendance of this course qualifies person to apply for national certification. Contact Us for more information
  • Free First Responder Dementia Training (3 hours) by on location to fire fighters, police department (state, county and city), EMTs, and volunteer first responders including disaster relief organizations. Contact Us for more information
  • Free Alzheimer’s/Dementia Experience: Take a Walk in Their Shoes – appropriate for all individuals that are “customer facing” to persons with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias (available on location and by request for half/full days for large groups including communities of faith, medical facilities and nursing homes). Contact Us for more information
  • Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease – on location presentation by request
    The AGEC offers informational programs about understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease for community awareness and knowledge. These programs can be requested based on your organizations needs (30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours in length) at  your location.  We ask requests will serve at least 25 attendees. The AGEC will help promote and market these programs for your event. Contact Us for more information
  • Free Family Caregiver Workshop focused on Dementia caregiving:  This 3 to 6 hour workshop will present an overview of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and provide caregiving tips that contribute to maintaining respects, dignity, and quality of life for the person living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.  These 3 to 4 hour workshops are available to the public.
