The Become a Dementia Friend program is part of a national effort to help you understand dementia, reduce stigma, and make communities more supportive and welcoming for those living with dementia, along with their families and care partners. DFA is a broad network of communities and individuals working together to help people with dementia live, engage, and thrive where they live.
At the heart of this effort is Dementia Friends USA — a global movement that teaches people what dementia is, how it affects someone’s life, and simple things you can do to make a positive difference in someone’s day.
By completing the Dementia Friends online session (about 45–60 minutes), you’ll:
- Learn more about dementia and how it affects people differently.
- Gain practical tips for connecting better with someone living with dementia.
- Become part of a supportive movement with thousands of people nationwide who are helping make communities more understanding and caring.
This experience is welcoming to people of all ages and backgrounds — whether you’re a family member, friend, neighbor, coworker, or someone who simply wants to be more informed and compassionate.
