AGEC partners with UAMS to offer two conferences each year. These conferences provide an opportunity for health care professionals to learn about health concerns of the aging population and network with other geriatric health care providers.
Geriatric Grand Rounds – Dementia/Alzheimer’s Focused Topic
The AGEC sponsors an Alzheimer’s focused Geriatric Grand Rounds bi-annually. AGEC-sponsored GGR typically features a renowned expert who presents the latest research, clinical findings, and interventions related to Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. This program is eligible for ANCC, AMA, and ACPE credit through the UAMS Office of Continuing Education department. The AGEC also submits application to the Physical Therapy, LTC, RD accredidation boards for any applicable topics within this series.
The Geriatrics Long-Term Care Update Conference
The Geriatrics Long-Term Care Update Conference is an opportunity for health care providers who provide primary care to older Arkansans, particularly those who live in rural and medically-underserved areas, to learn effective clinical and non-clinical interventions for a variety of geriatric health conditions.
