Understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease – Online
The AGEC offers informational programs about understanding Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease for community awareness and knowledge. This online program can be viewed individually at your own timing, or provided for your organization by request by a certified AGEC staff member virtually. We ask that requests serve at least 20 attendees. The AGEC can help promote and market this program for your event. Contact Us for more information
Caregiver Support Group – Online
Support groups provide an opportunity for caregivers to gain information, share ideas, problem-solve, and receive support from others going through similar situations.
Our online caregiver support group is facilitated by a clinical professional and is open to any Arkansan who is a family caregiver of a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. Click the link at the bottom of this page to request more information or to join an online support group.
Family Caregiver Workshop for Dementia – Online
This 2-3 hour online workshop is free to the public. The workshop presents an overview of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and provides caregiving tips that contribute to maintaining respect, dignity, and quality of life for the person living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
Dementia Simulation Experience For Community/Groups – Currently unavailable due to social distancing restrictions
Alzheimer’s/Dementia Experience Tours
The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Experience: Take a Walk in Their Shoes are 10-15 minute per person tours that are presented as a half/full day event, and can be requested as a free special event on-location for groups including communities of faith, employees at senior living centers, and medical facilities in Arkansas.
